A bibliometric analysis of the trends, topics, and findings of research publications on asynchronous and synchronous online language learning over three decades

Since the first study on computer-mediated communication tools in support of language learning was published 1992, asynchronous and synchronous have been widely adopted; however, few reviews conducted to explore research status this field. As COVID-19 has increased use online education, need understand how are being used education grown. In bibliometric analysis, we reviewed (ASOLL) by analyzing trends, topics, findings 319 articles ASOLL. The results indicate that interest ASOLL over past three decades with for oral proficiency development collaborative two main issues. Interest topics – ASOLL, emotions, corrective feedback especially apparent. review contributes understanding while providing practical implications using information technologies enhance learning.
